COLUMBIANA - Miriam Zimmerman, 75, passed away early Monday morning, July 27 at her home in Columbiana. Miss Zimmerman was born on July 12, 1940, a daughter of Paul E. and Maggie Kathryn (Vanpelt) Zimmerman. She graduated Youngstown State University with a Bachelor's degree in Education, and worked as a substitute teacher. Miriam was of the Mennonite faith and a member of the Midway Mennonite Church. She enjoyed quilting and sewing. Miriam took care of her parents through both of their extended illnesses; her giving and caring heart touched the lives of many. Always thinking of others, Miriam was unique in her own way. She leaves to cherish her precious memory many cousins, friends, and church family. Miriam will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Miriam was preceded in death by her parents and one infant brother. Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Midway Mennonite Church, 13376 Columbiana-Canfield Road, Columbiana with Pastors Ernest Martin, John Bartholomew, and Ray Shaum officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service, from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., on Thursday at the church. Interment will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery in Columbiana.
