COLUMBIANA - Muriel Henrietta (Barnhart) Longanecker, 94, of Columbiana died Friday at her home surrounded by her family. Muriel was born March 14, 1921 in Butler, PA, the daughter of the late Carl E. and Alma Sarah (Lepley) Barnhart. She had been employed at the former Swopes Valu King in North Lima before becoming a full time wife and mother. She was a member of the Zion Hill Church of the Brethren. Her beloved husband Lloyd David Longanecker passed in 2009 after 52 years of marriage. Muriel was preceded in death by her first husband Robert D. Buzzard in 1956 after 14 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: William Dale Barnhart, Carl Melvin Barnhart and Floyd Burdette Barnhart and one sister Ethel Mae (and her husband Nick) Kononchuk. Surviving is her brother Donald Gene (and his wife Dee) Barnhart; daughter Carla S. (Longanecker) (and her husband Mark) Hatch; her four grandchildren Charles (and his wife Kathryn) Hatch, Randall (and his wife Bethany) Hatch, Bradley (and his wife Sarah) Hatch and Marshall Hatch; two great grandsons and two great granddaughters. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Zion Hill Church of the Brethren or Senior Independence Hospice at 6715 Tippecanoe Road, Canfield, OH 44406. A funeral service will be held Monday, January 11, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. at Zion Hill Church of the Brethren, 14550 New Buffalo Rd, Columbiana, OH, 44408.
