Obituary

Oscar P. Young, 79, of 903 S. Main Street, died on Friday, March 7, 2008 at Austinwoods Nursing Home. Mr. Young was born May 2, 1928 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the late William and Helen Williams Young. After his father passed away his late mother, Helen married Jan Janos, who also preceded him in death. Mr. Young lived in Campbell, Ohio as a child then moved to North Lima as a teenager. In 1987 he moved to Columbiana, Ohio. A graduate of Youngstown State, he taught school within the Youngstown School System. He Owned Young's Bookkeeping and did accounting work for many years. Oscar was in the U.S. Navy during WW II, he was also a member of the American Legion Post 290 and the Knights of Columbus Council 10183. His first wife, Anna May Belick Young whom he married June 25, 1949, died July 12, 1985. His second wife Martha Drotleff Young whom he married on August 26, 1988, died on January 11, 2008. He leaves four children, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. There are no calling hours. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at the St. Jude Catholic Church in Columbiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Catholic Church or Harmony Village Resident Association, 901 South Main St. Columbiana, Ohio 44408.
