Paul E. Erlenback, 80, of Salem, Ohio passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at the Greenbriar Healthcare Center. Mr. Erlenback was born April 20, 1928 in Syracuse, New York. Paul was a Purchasing Analyst for Alliance Tool and Die for 12 years. Prior to moving to Ohio, Mr. Erlenback worked as a Purchasing Analyst and Buyer in New York. Paul trained, owned and raised AKC registered Beagles as owner of the Bunny Trail Kennel, and finished many Field Champions. Paul was a member of the Mahoning/Trumbull Beagle club, Portage County Beagle club, a lifetime member of the Owasco Valley Beagle club, Lake Erie Beagle club, and was elected into the New York State/Eastern Lake Erie and International Beagle Hall of Fame. Mr. Erlenback was preceded in death on January 25, 2000 by his wife Mary Jane (Scharoun) Erlenback, whom he married on June 1, 1949. Paul is survived by four daughters, Lynette (Bob) Coil of Bulls Gap, Tennessee, Denise (Richard) Voelker of Clarence, New York, Nancy Erlenback of Fairport, New York, Elaine (Doug) Williams of Palmyra, New York; one sister, Carol (Willard) Bahn of Syracuse, New York; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Erlenback was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley Smith. Paul leaves his very special friend, Patricia Deeter. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
