Paul E. Wallace, 87, formerly of New Middletown, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman. Mr. Wallace was born on April 16, 1922 in Huntington, West Virginia the son of the late Earl S. and Inez (Williams) Wallace. Paul worked as a linotype operator for the Youngstown Vindicator from 1947-1951 and returned in 1953 and worked until his retirement in April 1990. Previously he worked at the Louisville Courier in Kentucky and also at papers in Sarasota and Jacksonville, Florida. He was of the Catholic Faith. Paul served in the army in W.W.II state side. He enjoyed spending time at his cottage at Pymatuning, Pennsylvania and spent many winters along the Texas Gulf Coast. Paul was a nature lover and enjoyed animals. Mr. Wallace was preceded in death on May 15, 1995 by his wife Phyllis M. (Iacone) Wallace, whom he married on April 3, 1955. He is survived by three daughters, Sharon (Richard) Wade of Poland, Ohio, Claudia (William) Schmid of Banner, Wyoming, Kathy (Tom) Henry of Montville, Ohio; two sons, Steve (Carol) Wallace of Canfield, Ohio, Ronald Wallace of Florida; one sister, Louise (Charles) Meige of Huntington, West Virginia; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and by his companion since 1996, Margaret Rossell. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Poland, Ohio with Rev. Richard Whetstone officiating. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima and 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at the Holy Family Catholic Church.
