Obituary

Penny C. Haines, 87, of Columbiana, passed away peacefully on December 22 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 18, 1925, in Bennington, New Hampshire, the daughter of Louis F. and Laura (Moore) Champney, and was from a family of 14 children. Penny was a homemaker, housewife, and mother. Penny was a long time member of the Columbiana Church of the Nazarene. Famous for her baking, Penny's favorite place to be was the church kitchen. She loved going to church and worshiping with friends and family. Penny is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Robert) Lintz, her three granddaughters, Sheri (Mike) Pagan & Teri (Steve) Zuppo, Sheri Lynn (Brad) Lintz-Gross, grandson, Steven (Amber) Fleckenstein, and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Jack Haines, whom she married on September 6, 1947 and died on March 17, 2002; and a daughter, Sherry L. Haines, who died in 1960. Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 27, 2011 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Columbiana Church of the Nazarene with viewing one hour prior at the church. The family suggests that material contributions be made to the Hospice House or the Columbiana Church of the Nazarene.
