Phyllis Garrell Hadley born August 23, 1935 in East Liverpool, Ohio to Essel and Mary Hoppel Hadley passed away Thursday May 19th, 2016 in Abilene, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Jean Hadley Gregg and a brother-in-law Guy Gregg. She moved from Columbiana, Ohio to Abilene in 1995. She blessed many lives with her generosity and her loving, caring spirit at Southern Hills Church of Christ where she was a member and worked in the office, retiring in 2013. She was also involved with many ministries of the church. She leaves a niece Janet Mong(Jim) of Columbiana, nephews Gary Gregg(Carolyn) of Searcy, AR; Gail Gregg(Joan) of Abilene, TX; and a niece Joy Clark(Dain) of Pavo, GA. She also leaves 11 great and 14 great great nieces and nephews. Phyllis enjoyed attending all events in the lives of her nieces and nephews, greats and great greats. She loved watching Ohio State football and the Cleveland Cavaliers. She enjoyed traveling with her friends. She showered many special ones with her homemade Buckeyes, baking, cooking, crocheted dishcloths and baby blankets, and personalized gift baskets. She had worked for the Columbiana County Board of Education, Lisbon; Columbiana County Agricultural Society, Lisbon; Ohio Cooperative Extension Service, Lisbon; Columbiana Women's Club, Columbiana; Consumer Credit Counseling of Columbiana County, Lisbon; Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, Little Rock, AR; and Southern Hills Church of Christ, Abilene, TX retiring in 2013. Funeral Service will be Thursday May 26 at 11:00 am at the Columbiana Church of Christ with visitation one hour prior to service. Graveside service will be in the Columbiana Memorial Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
