Waldron, Sr. 82, of 10011 Market Street, North Lima, passed away peacefully at his home on October 28, 2006 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Salem, Ohio on June 12, 1924, the son of John L. and Viola Hertz Waldron. Ralph graduated from Salem High School in the class of 1942. He served during W.W. II as a Aviation Metalsmith 2nd class for the United States Navy in the Lighter Than Air (LTA) "Dirigibles", Antisubmarine Division stationed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He was employed in the toll collection department of the Ohio Turnpike Commission until his retirement in 1986. He also owned and operated Waldron's Greenhouse and Nursery in North Lima from 1955 until 1989. He was a member of the Good Hope Lutheran Church in North Lima where he was a past councilman and a member of the Men's Levites Club. He had a deep love of God and family, "Our loving father will be remembered for his smile, quick wit and charming personality. He was always willing to lend a helping hand no matter how small or large the task. He loved to travel to West Virginia which he always called ' God's Country'. He was a great storyteller, reminiscing about his life, especially his youth. He looked forward to a new spring every year when he could plant his garden and ride his John Deere tractor. He enjoyed woodworking and hunting in his earlier years. Ralph will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends." He is survived by his wife of 58 years Mary L. Waldron and four loving children; Pamela (Michael) Orr of North Lima, Ralph K. Waldron, Jr. of North Lima, Cathy (George) Wakefield of Poland and Mary DeRose of North Lima and his nine grandchildren Michelle (Nate) Sikora of North Lima, Joshua Orr of North Lima, Anthony, Dominic, and Nicole DeRose of North Lima, Anne Gulfo of North Lima, William, Andrew, and Zakary Wakefield of Poland and two great-grandchildren; Cassandra and Isabella Sikora of North Lima; and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the Good Hope Lutheran Church in North Lima with Pastor Ralph Edwards officiating. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the Good Hope Lutheran Church. A Military Honors Service will be conducted by the Columbiana American Legion Post 290 at the Forest Lawn Cemetery Chapel, with interment to follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family requests that material tributes take the form of donations to either Good Hope Lutheran Church, 12030 Market Street, North Lima, Ohio 44452 or Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
