Raymond Alan Yerian, 87, of 204 Village Court, Columbiana, passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 23, 2007 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Mr. Yerian was born on September 21, 1920, in North Lima, the son of Elmer and Ora Lipp Yerian. Raymond was a life-long area resident. He was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Springfield where he served on council for many years and was Secretary-Treasurer of the Lutheran Cemetery Association. Mr. Yerian was co-owner and operator of May Chevrolet in New Springfield. After selling the dealership he worked for Dave Myers Chevrolet in North Jackson until he retired. Raymond was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the European Theatre, Army Field Artillery Battalion. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and working outdoors in the yard. Mr. Yerian is survived by his wife, the former Elouise May, two daughters Kay Ann Bonham and her husband Richard of Westerville, Ohio and Jane Frendberg and her husband Donald of Powell, Ohio; three grandsons Kris, Brant and Karey and two granddaughters Kori and Tracey and five great-grandchildren. Raymond was preceded in death by an infant brother Walter Yerian. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 29, 2007 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima with Pastor Paul Stork and Pastor Emeritus Robert Brigham, officiating. Burial will be in Petersburg Cemetery where a Military Honors Service will be conducted by the American Legion Benjamin Firestone Post #290 of Columbiana. Friends may call from 1-3 and 6-8 pm Friday, December 28, 2007 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in Raymond's memory.
