POLAND- Richard P. Anderson, 81, passed away Thursday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Richard was born on October 24, 1931 in Youngstown, the son of Carl and Clara (Perry) Anderson, and was a lifelong area resident. A 1949 graduate of North Lima High School, Richard completed an electrician apprenticeship program at Youngstown State University. He was a union electrician for over 40 years, working for various companies throughout the area. Richard proudly served his country from 1951 to 1955 in the US Navy, and held the position of Third Class Electronics Technician. Richard belonged to Bethel Lutheran Church, Allen Lodge #276, and Shriner's International. In his spare time, he enjoyed model railroading, golfing, and attending the Shaker Woods Festival. He leaves to cherish his precious memory his wife, Pauline, whom he married June 28, 1986; three stepsons, John and Don (Tamara) Sebest, both of Michigan and Anthony Sebest of S. C.; a stepdaughter, Lori (Robert) Kurta of Poland; his grandchildren, Kyle Harrison, Megan Sebest, and Robert Kurta; a sister, Ruth (Andrew) Ragan of Poland; his brothers, David (Jo Ann) Anderson of Boardman and Jim (Pat) Anderson of Va.; and his children from a previous marriage, Carla, Lori and Skip. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Donald. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima with Pastor Paul Burgeson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, where the Allen Lodge 276 will hold a Masonic Service at 8 p.m., and one hour prior to the services Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lake Park Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit www.seederly-mondandbeck.com to sign the guestbook or send private condolences.
