Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home 154 S. Elm Street P.O. Box 1 Columbiana, Ohio 44408 Richard W. Hess, 81, of 3325 W. Garfield Rd. Columbiana, Ohio, passed away at 6:10 a.m. on Friday, February 17, 2006, at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Youngstown. Richard was born on April 19, 1924 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of George and Mayme McConahey Hess. Mr. Hess moved to Columbiana 30 years ago from North Lima. He was a layout man at Wean United formerly of Youngstown, Ohio. Richard retired in July 1982. He enjoyed the outdoors and working outside. He is survived by his wife, the former Arlene B. Froom, whom he married September 16, 1949; a sister Mrs. Edith Frost of Boardman and many nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by brothers John Hess, George Hess, Rev. Robert Hess, William Hess and sisters Mary Louise Thew, Ethel Russell, Emily Floch and Anna Mae Way. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 20, 2006, at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana with Mr. Clarence Mansfield officiating. Burial will be in Lake Park Cemetery.
