Richard M. Judy, Jr., 56, of Canfield, Ohio, passed away at 4:05 p.m., Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the Salem Community Hospital. Richard was born on October 19, 1952 in Youngstown, Ohio the son of the late Richard M. Sr. and Lorraine (Sweringen) Judy. Rick was a 1970 graduate of Canfield High School and a graduate of McPherson College in Kansas. He was employed as a church office manager at John Knox Presbyterian Church for eight years and was an ordained minister. He was serving as a part time minister at Living Peace Church of the Brethren in Columbus, Ohio. He attended Midway Mennonite Church in Columbiana. Rick was involved in many community organizations including Youngstown Peace Council, Common Wealth Inc. of Youngstown and A.C.T.I.O.N.. He was an avid reader, loved history and doing family genealogy. Mr. Judy is survived by two sisters, Karen Pavlov of Canfield, Ohio, Diane W. Judy of Boardman, Ohio; his step-mother Jean Judy of Austintown, Ohio; two step-sisters, Brenda (Peter) Fraser of Austintown, Kathy Will of Dublin, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Allison and Natalie Pavlov, Amanda, Emily and Jason (Jackie) Fraser, Ryan, Tyler (Miranda) and Evan Will and one great niece, Sophia Fraser. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at the Midway Mennonite Church with Rev. Herman Myers officiating. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at the Midway Mennonite Church. The family requests that material tributes be made to Midway Mennonite Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
