Robert L. Foster, of 42015 Edward Circle, Columbiana, Ohio, passed away on Thursday August 2, 2007 at Parkside Health Care Center. Robert was born on February 2, 1927 in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, the son of Robert Roscoe and Jennie Florence Dight Foster. Mr. Foster moved to the local area in 1952. He was employed as the vice president of sales at George J. Howe Company of Grove City, Pennsylvania for 46 years. Robert was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Columbiana and a member of the U.S. Navy, serving in W.W. II in the Pacific Theatre on the U.S.S. Soubarrisen. Mr. Foster enjoyed woodworking and he was also instrumental in organizing the reunions of his shipmates from W.W. II.. Robert was a member of the V.F.W. Post of Leetonia, American Legion Post 290 of Columbiana and also a member of the Fairfield Ruritan Club. Mr. Foster is survived by his wife, Evelyn Seth whom he married June 4, 1948. He is also survived by, three daughters, Barbara Foster of Redondo, California, Sheri (Mark) Lamoncha of Columbiana and Susan (Barry) Edwards of Winchester, Kentucky; one son, Robert (Teresa) Foster and ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Foster was preceded in death by one sister. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana with Rev. Scott Parker officiating. Burial will be in the Columbiana Cemetery where a Military Honors Service will be conducted by the Benjamin Firestone Post 290 of the American Legion. Visiting hours will be from 9-11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Family suggests that material tributes be made to the Hospice of the Valley, 120 W County Line Road, Columbiana, OH 44408.
