Robert A. "Bob" Jones, 89, formerly of Greenford, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Monday, November 28, 2016. Bob was born on April 20, 1927 in Youngstown, OH, a son of William and Dorothy (Anderson) Jones. Bob served in the United States Army during World War II, serving in the Black Forest of Germany. He worked at Raymond Concrete Pile and Steel Door, and in 1959 started his own excavating company, Bob Jones Excavating. He married his wife, the former, Betty Louise Arkwright on July 30, 1949. Bob was a hard worker; he farmed locally for over 40 years. When he wasn't working he enjoyed traveling to Florida and South Dakota. Bob leaves to cherish his precious memory his children Jane (John) Mihalko of New Springfield and Robert (Vicki) Jones of Salem; 8 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; his siblings, Dorothy Dweck of Oakhurst, New Jersey, Carol Hollenbaugh of Warren, Beverly (Wendel) Neal and Donald (Maureen) Jones all of Youngstown; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty and his sister Jean Alexander and brothers William and Richard Jones. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 1 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Hill Church of Brethren, 14550 New Buffalo Rd, Columbiana, Ohio 44408. Military honors will be rendered at Paradise UCC Cemetery with interment to follow. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. at the Seederly Mong and Beck Funeral Home North Lima Chapel, 11500 Market St., North Lima, Ohio 44452. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service on Thursday from 10-11am at Zion Hill Church of Brethren, Columbiana, Ohio.
