East Palestine - Robert Lee Keister of Columbiana lost his hard battle with cancer on June 26, 2016. Bob was born August 15, 1938 in Omar, West Virginia, the son of the late Roy and Evelyn Bradley Keister. Bob attended Clarkson Elementary School and East Liverpool and Wellsville High Schools. He moved to Columbiana in 1968. Bob was employed at Homer Laughlin China Company and United Tool & Dye. He owned and operated Keister Auto Sales in Columbiana from 1975 to 2016 where he also sold modular homes. He was a very hard worker and worked all his life until he was no longer physically able. He loved golfing and made several golfing trips down south with friends. He enjoyed watching the Cavs and the Browns. He had a passion for collecting old cars, and enjoyed spending time with his family. Bob will be greatly missed for his sense of humor and his big heart. Since his diagnosis in 2002 he always kept a positive, fighting attitude and refused to give up or let it stop him from living life. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Ruth Dyer Keister whom he married on November 7, 1958; his loving family - one daughter Kimberly (Richard) Semperger of Columbiana; one son Robert (Jenifer) Keister of Columbiana; three granddaughters Melanie Semperger (Derek Sullivan) of North Jackson, Jennifer (John) Calko of Canfield, Amelia Mills of Columbiana; one brother Ray (Joyce) Keister of Leetonia; one sister Joyce Boggess of AZ; one great nephew who held a special place in his heart, Hunter Rosfeld of Columbiana and several other nieces and nephews whom he was very fond of. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm Street, Columbiana with Pastor Austin French and Pastor Jan Winnale officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 29 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, Columbiana and also at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, one hour before the services, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made in Bob's memory to Senior Independence Hospice, 6715 Tippecanoe Road, Canfield, OH 44406.
