Robert W. Knight, age 82 of New Waterford, OH passed away at 1:00am Thursday, October 14, 2010 at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman, OH. Mr. Knight, the son of Samuel and Nora Irene (Smith) Knight, was born on March 27, 1928 in Waltersburgh, PA. Robert worked as an assembler for Youngstown Sheet and Tube, the former Enterprise of Columbiana, LW Nash of East Palestine and National Rubber Machinery of Columbiana where he retired in 1992 after 33 years of service. Robert enjoyed gardening, especially raising peppers for his daughter's business. He was a member of the East Fairfield United Methodist Church. Robert is survived by his wife, Anna Belle (Dolly) Whetsel, whom he married on October 27, 1951. Survivors include, son Robert of Leetonia, daughter Judy (Jim) Cook of Columbiana, daughter Cindy (Mark) Graffius of Columbiana, and son Don (Lori) Knight of New Waterford, OH. He is survived by 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Robert is also survived by 2 sisters, Ruby (Fred) Anderson of Kent, OH, and Anna Faye (Ben) Smith of Decatur IL. Two brothers, Harry and Raymond and a sister, Delores, proceeded him in death. Services will be held Monday, October 18, 2010 at Seederly-Mong and Beck funeral home Columbiana at 11:00am with Pastor Michael Namy officiating. Friends may call from 7 to 9 P.M. on Sunday October 17, 2010 and 1 hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Family suggest material contributions be made to the memorial fund at the East Fairfield United Methodist Church.
