Robert 'Bob'
L. Cox
Jul 15, 1947 — Mar 2, 2026
New Springfield – Robert "Bob" L. Cox, 78, of New Springfield passed away peacefully Monday morning, March 2, 2026, with his loving family by his side.
Robert was born on July 15, 1947, in Youngstown, a son of Edison and Dolores French Cox. He was a proud Springfield Local High School graduate, class of 1965.
Robert cherished nothing more in life than the time spent with his grandchildren, who were his greatest joy and purpose. A skilled craftsman with a steady hand and creative spirit, he took pride in creating custom gun stocks, and he enjoyed testing his work at local shooting ranges with friends and family. Other times were spent tuned into NASCAR races which he loved greatly.
Dedicating much of his working life in the trades, he served as a welder/fitter and crane operator at Pollock's and Reichard Industries, where his expertise and reliability earned him the respect of colleagues over many years until his well-deserved retirement in 2011. He also took great pride in being a National Guard Reserve member for many years, as well as riding auxiliary with the New Middletown police department for three years.
He leaves to cherish his precious memory his wife the former Patricia Stacy, whom he married August 10, 1974, daughters Stacy (Kevin) Colwell, Taffy (Jason) Pavone, grandchildren Morgan (Kirk Wolf) Colwell, Mason Colwell, Aiden Pavone, Elijah Pavone, and brother-in-law Brad Stacy.
Along with his parents, Robert is preceded in death by a brother Ken Cox, and in laws Lawrence and Gloria Stacy.
Presently there are no services at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Health Hospice of the Valley, 9803 Sharrott Rd, Youngstown, OH 44514, in Robert's honor.
The Cox family has entrusted Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one.
