Rollin James Detwiler, 73, of Edwardsville, IL, passed away at 8:52 a.m. on Monday, September 1, 2008, at the Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois. Mr. Detwiler was born on May 21, 1935 in Beaver Township, the son of Marcus E. and Estella (Schloneger) Detwiler. Rollin was a baggage handler for Ozark Airlines which later became T.W.A.. He was a graduate of Greenford High School. Mr. Detwiler enjoyed gardening and baseball. He was a Cardinal fan. Rollin is survived by six brothers, Donald Detwiler of Youngstown, Ohio, Ellis (Caroline) Detwiler of Harisonburg, Virginia, Kenneth (Marlene) Detwiler of Cornersburg, Ohio, Richard Detwiler of Salem, Ohio, John (Cheryl) Detwiler of Yuma, Tennessee, David (Nancy) Detwiler of Wollaston, Massachusetts; three sisters, Lucille (Warren) Witmer of Poolesville, Maryland, Lorene (Martin) Ruby of Columbiana, Ohio, Janice (James) Ziegler of Dalton, Ohio and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Midway Mennonite Church in Columbiana with Rev. Ernest Martin officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Midway Mennonite Cemetery.
