COLUMBIANA - Rosetta M. Martin, 91, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, January 26 at her home. Mrs. Martin was born on February 27, 1924 in North Lima and was a daughter of Harvey and Celesta K. (Yoder) Blosser. A life-long area resident, she received a B.S. in education from Goshen College in 1949 and taught for five years in Beloit and one year in Honeyville, IN. She married Ernest D. Martin on August 28, 1949 and together they would raise three children. Rosetta was a member of the Midway Mennonite Church and served as the Pastor's wife for many years while her husband Ernest was Pastor. She was very involved in the church; she taught Sunday School, served as the Sunday School Superintendent, and facilitated the summer bible school program. She enjoyed providing childcare, helping parents who worked with their children. She belonged to the Mary-Dorcas Circle of the church and volunteered at the former Ten Thousand Villages of Columbiana. Mrs. Martin leaves to cherish her precious memory her husband of 66 years, Ernest; a daughter Susan Beuscher and her husband Alan of Lexington, KY; two sons, Timothy of Ellendale, DE and Nathan and his wife Barb of Columbiana; seven grandchildren Jesse Martin, Jeffrey Martin, Julie Rust, Rachel Brinke, Katie Brown, Brian Martin, and Kyle Martin; six great-grandchildren; and one brother Virgil Blosser of Columbiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother Wilma Lehman-Blosser; her sister Kathryn Heindel; her grandson Kurt Martin; and her sister-in-law Mildred Blosser. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 30 at 11:00 a.m. at Midway Mennonite Church, 13376 Columbiana-Canfield Rd., Columbiana. Friends will be received on Friday, January 29 at 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Midway Mennonite Church, 13376 Columbiana-Canfield Rd., Columbiana as well as an hour before the service on Saturday at the church at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in memory of Rosetta to the church or to the Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Youngstown, Ohio 44512.
