Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home 11500 Market St. P.O. Box 281 North Lima, Ohio 44452 330-549-2231 Roy D. "Bud" DeLauter, 83, 2621 Columbiana Rd. New Springfield passed away in the early morning on Monday, July 31, 2006 at his residence. Mr. DeLauter was born September 29, 1922 in Washingtonville, Ohio, the son of Layton and Laura Smedley DeLauter. Roy was a life-long area resident. He was employed by DeLauter Coal Co. of North Lima for 46 years, where he was the Vice-President. He retired in 1978. Mr. DeLauter was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Columbiana. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during W.W. II. Survivors include his wife the former, Virginia M. Smith whom he married April 12, 1944; three daughters Sue Kerr and her husband Jim and Ginny Lee DeLauter all of Columbiana and Linda Yencha and her husband John of Locust Grove, Virginia; a son Rick DeLauter and his wife Barb of Columbiana; two sisters Ruth Turnbull of Columbiana and Betty Davis and her husband Bob of Poland; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers Chester DeLauter and Layton DeLauter. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 2006 at St. Jude Catholic Church in Columbiana with Rev. Thomas Ziegler officiating. Burial will be in New Springfield Cemetery where the American Legion Benjamin Firestone Post #290 of Columbiana will have a military honors service. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima.
