Roy W. Hofus, 67, of Ft. Myers, Florida, formerly of Austintown, Ohio, passed away Sunday evening, September 21, 2008 at the Hospice House in North Lima due to complications of cancer. Roy was born on January 2, 1941 in Youngstown, Ohio, the son of Harold and Loretta (Gardner) Hofus. Roy was a sales manager for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in Akron, Ohio for 30 years, he retired in 1996. Mr. Hofus served in the U.S. navy from 1958-1963. Roy is survived by his wife Sandy (Snyder) Hofus, formerly of Poland, Ohio, whom he married on February 29, 2000. Other survivors include, four sons, Terry and Tim (Kristi) Hofus of California, Dwayne and Roy Hofus Jr. of Youngstown, Ohio; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Roy was preceded in death by two brothers; Richard and Tommy Hofus. There will be no services or calling hours.
