Obituary

NEW SPRINGFIELD – TOGETHER AGAIN. Russell Vern Kozicky, 84, of New Springfield, passed away Monday morning, April 28 at St. Elizabeth Health Center.

Mr. Kozicky was born on September 7, 1929 in Youngstown, a son of Anthony and Ernestine (Lodwick) Kozicky. A graduate of South High School, Russell enlisted in the Army in March 1951. He was stationed in Germany for two years during the Korean War, until he was honorably discharged in March 1953. Upon returning home, he was employed by United States Steel as a chemist for many years, until he retired in 1980.

Russell was an avid golfer who liked to travel and enjoyed taking his family to Cedar Point every summer. He was a member of the Sebring Model Railroad Club. He loved to be involved with his family.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory his three daughters, Brenda Lee Kozicky of Eugene, Oregon, Carol Marie Bolchalk and her husband John of Kernersville, NC, and Diane Louise Graft and her husband Dave of Columbiana; and four grandchildren, Deric Graft and his wife Kristine, Dana Graft , Anna and Josh Bolchalk.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife Betty Lou, whom he married July 18, 1951 and who passed away October 12, 2013; and a brother William.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 2 at 11 a.m. at the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm Street, Columbiana with Pastor Jim Carmany officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday May 1 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana and also one hour prior to the services at 10 a.m. Friday.
