COLUMBIANA - Ruth Anabel Howell, 93, of Columbiana went to meet her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 3, 2015 at 9 pm. Ruth was born on September 20, 1921 in Columbiana to Cora Ziegler Cullar Coy and Stelvin Coy. Ruth graduated from North Lima High School in 1940 and was a life-long area resident and member of Midway Mennonite Church in Columbiana. She married Bill Howell Sr. on July 4, 1943; he preceded her in death on February 19, 1992. Ruth was employed at the former Mellinger's Nursery and Greenhouse in North Lima for 14 years. Ruth will be sadly missed and is survived by her son Bill (Velda) Howell and daughter Gloria Howell, both of Columbiana; granddaughters Autumn Howell of Columbiana and Amber (Jon) Springer of Sebring; grandsons Wesley and Justin Howell, both of Columbiana; great-grandson David Springer of Sebring; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Ruth was also preceded in death by sisters Edna Oesch and Bertha Halferty, a brother Orville Cullar, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 11:00 am at Midway Mennonite Church with Rev. Jesse Johnson officiating. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at 10 am, at the church. Burial will follow at Midway Mennonite Cemetery.
