BOARDMAN – Shirley R. Tenney, 87, of North Lima, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, June 24, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospital ER.

She was born on March 5, 1939, in Marion County, WV, the only daughter of Wilbert and Gypsy (Moore) Amos.  She graduated from Mannington (WV) High School, and married Kenneth D. Tenney on July 2, 1958; they were married for 57 years. She enjoyed taking care of their five children, and loved to be outside, in her vegetable and flower gardens. Shirley was a caregiver at Ron-Joy Nursing Home in Youngstown for thirty years.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory two daughters Debora S. Tenney and Loretta J. Tenney; three sons Kenneth W. (Carol) Tenney, Philip C. (Belinda) Tenney Sr. and David E. (Guyla) Tenney; six grandchildren Dacia Redmond, Derek Tenney, Philip C. Tenney Jr., Kaila Tenney, Mathew Tenney and Meagan Tenney; and thirteen great grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Kenneth, who passed away July 29, 2015; and three brothers, Harold 'Ralph,' James, and Danny Amos.

Per her wishes, private funeral services will be held.

The family requests donations may be made in Shirley's name to the charity of the donor's choice.
