Shirley M. Cusick, 75, 14 Woodland Dr. New Middletown, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2006 at 6:35 a.m. at her residence following a long illness. Mrs. Cusick was born on April 30, 1931 in Columbiana, Ohio, the daughter of Tom and Lula Wadell Dicken. Shirley moved to New Middletown in the 1960's. She worked as a nanny for Dr. Mary Ellen and Rick Barringer, for the Cerni family, and for others in the community. She also worked at Consolidated Dept. Store as a manager in the shoe department. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church and very active in church. She served on the cradle role, was a church steward and made communion bread for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and baking. She is survived by her husband, Cecil C. Cusick, whom she married December 28, 1952; two daughters Carolyn Witherstine and her husband Don of Spartansburg, South Carolina and Robbin Gleghorn and her husband Barney of Enon Valley, Pennsylvania; three sons Cecil Eugene Cusick of Dayton, Ohio, Gary L. Cusick and his wife Carol of Brunswick, Georgia and Thomas J. Cusick and his wife Judy of Boardman; a sister Mrs. Ruth Nigro of Austintown, Ohio; 19 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by a daughter Dianna Reese on July 8, 2001, a son Bryan Keith Cusick and a sister Becky Oyster in 1995. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 7, 2006 at the Free Methodist Community Church in New Middletown with Pastor Hal Haire and Pastor Jan Winnale officiating. Burial will be in New Springfield Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-9 pm Sunday, August 6, 2006 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the Church.
