Stephen M. Futey IV, 27, of 1216 Wick Oval, Youngstown, Ohio, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2009. Stephen was born on May 25, 1981 in Warren, Ohio the son of Julie (Trua) Peterson and the late Stephen Michael Futey III. Stephen was a 1999 graduate of South Range High School. He was an excellent athlete and won numerous awards in track and football and he lettered in both as a freshman. Mr. Futey was a full time student at Y.S.U., majoring in Exercise Science. His goal was to become a personal trainer. Stephen had a great compassion for people and animals. Those who knew Stephen will remember his love of life and adventure, sense of humor and the joy he brought to all. Mr. Futey is survived by his mother, Julie Peterson of North Jackson, Ohio; his maternal grandparents, Nick and Doris Trua of Champion, Ohio; and his aunts, uncles and cousins. A Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima. Friends may call from 12-2 p.m. and 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima. The family suggests that material tributes be made to, Angels for Animals 4750 State Rte 165, Canfield, OH 44406. Monetary donations may also be made to the Steve Futey Memorial Fund through any Huntington Bank Branch. This fund is intended to be used for equipment or other needed items for the weight room at the new South Range School currently under construction.
