SALEM – A private service will be held for Teria C. Ross, 76, of Columbiana, who passed away March 5, 2017 at Salem Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Ross was born on March 5, 1941 in Youngstown, a daughter of Peter D. and Thelma P. (Bainbridge) Poulakos. A 1959 Chaney High School graduate, Teria earned a Bachelor's of Science in Education from Kent State University in 1963. She was a teacher at South Range Schools, teaching K-third grade, for 32 years. She retired in 1994. She married C.L. (Butch) Ross June 22, 1963, and together they would have two children.
Teria enjoyed golfing, and was associated with the Lake Front Golf Course and Restaurant, and also with the Salem Hills Golf and Country Club. She was a sports fanatic who loved the Cleveland Indians, Cavaliers, and Browns. She also loved to bake and cook. Her greatest love was family and watching the activities of her grandchildren. Her strength and courage throughout her life was an inspiration to her family.
Teria will be greatly missed by her husband, her son Michael Ross and his wife Brandy and her daughter Michaelle Varescak and her husband Brian, all of Columbiana; three grandchildren Sierra, Taylor, and Seth; siblings Donnajean (Dennis) Ruble, Elizabeth Ann (Ted) Warmoth, Peter D. (Cindy) Poulakos, Esther Lee (Rody) Pederson and JoAnn (John) Schum; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother James Poulakos and sister Georgiann, who died in infancy.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, friends may make donations in Teria's memory to The Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
The family has entrusted Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one.
