Obituary

Thelma R. Bashline, 85, of 810 S. Main St. Columbiana, passed away following a brief illness at 9:25 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2012 at the Salem Community Hospital. Mrs. Bashline, the daughter of Arthur and Helen (Hofmann) Horst, was born on February 24, 1926 in Greenford, OH. Thelma was a lifelong resident of Columbiana. She worked for Armor Packing on south ave. for nine years, and had also worked for the First State Bank of N. Lima which became Citizens Bank in Columbiana, as a book keeper. She had also been a book keeper for Mahoning Bank for four years. She was a member of the Zion Hill Church of the Brethren. Thelma is preceded in death by her husband Carl A. Bashline, who died December 12, 1984, whom she married September 1, 1956. Also preceded are brothers Theodore (Bud) Horst, and Harold Horst. Survivors include daughter Mrs. Diane (Dennis) Hetric, New Waterford, sisters Lucille (Ed) Wright, Poland, Helen (Craig) Wince, Salem, and brother Lawrence (Bonnie) Horst, Dayton, OH. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Shannon (Eric) Rankin, Fairbanks, AK and Tracy (Matt) Quetot, Colorado Spring, CO and three great grandchildren. Services will be held Friday, February 10, 2012 at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, Columbiana, at 11 a.m. with Minister John Bartholomew officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday February 9, 2012 at the funeral home. The family suggests that memorial contributions will be made to The American Cancer Society
