NEW SPRINGFIELD - Thelma E. Davison, 81, passed away Thursday morning, July 30 at her home with her loving family around her. Mrs. Davison was born on March 12, 1934 in Youngstown, OH, a daughter of Herschel and Bertha (Simmons) Burkey. A 1952 graduate of Springfield Local High School, Thelma also attended secretarial school and obtained her real estate broker license. She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in New Springfield. She married R. Keith Davison on June 20, 1953; they celebrated almost 59 years of marriage before he passed away on March 13, 2012. Thelma enjoyed ceramics, jewelry making, knitting and crocheting. She crafted numerous afghans and baby layettes for her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She met regularly with her classmates from the Springfield Local Class of 1952. Early in her career, she worked as a real estate broker and owned D & W Realty. After retiring from this, she secured a position as bookkeeper at State Alarm. She rounded out her career as general manager of Heck's Restaurant in Columbiana, where she worked for 17 years. She leaves to cherish her precious memory three daughters, Kathryn Miller of North Lima, Joy (John) Repasky of Petersburg, and Michele(Tom) Yoder of New Springfield; grandchildren Jason (Heidi) Whitten of Coventry, John (Brianna) Repasky of Ashtabula, Bradley (Lauren) Miller of Struthers, Krista (Justin) Zuchowski of Stow, Cara Repasky of Pittsburgh, Levi Miller of Tallmadge, Anna Miller of North Lima, and Aaron, Courtney and Joshua Yoder of New Springfield; and great grandchildren Ella, John and Sophia Repasky of Ashtabula, Lillee Miller of Struthers, and Eli Zuchowski of Stow. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and siblings Florence, Creedean, Ernest, Herschel, Theodore, Virgil, and Hazel. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 3 at 2:30 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, New Springfield, with Rev. Aimee Raymond and Pastor Larry Klinker officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 2 at 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 11500 Market Street, North Lima and also at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the church. The family has entrusted Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one.
