Thelma A. Kaltenbaugh, age 98, passed away at 4:30 am Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at GreenBriar Health Care Center, Youngstown, from infirmities of age. Ms. Kaltenbaugh, the daughter of Steven and Margaret (Perdue) Shafer, was born on September 3, 1912. Thelma worked as a sales clerk for Higbee and Strouss's Department Store for many years. She had also worked for Mother-To-Be maternity shop in Boardman and also as a clerk for Grace Roof Dry Cleaner in Boardman and Poland. Thelma was preceded in death on March 19,1997 by her husband Raymond C. Kaltenbaugh, whom she married April 7, 1956. Survivors include son Eugene Wolfgang, Campbell, daughters Loretta Hammock, Streetsboro, and Mrs. Rae (Dennis) Petrolla, New Middletown, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, one sister, and one son Jack Wolfgang. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Seederly-Mong & Beck are handling the arrangements.
