Youngstown - Thomas E. Pitzo, 62, passed away early morning December 12 at Northside Medical Center with his family by his side. Thomas was born on September 7, 1953, in Youngstown, a son of Mike and Annette Jane (Bakes) Pitzo. A 1972 Springfield Local High School Graduate, Tom graduated trade school as a sprinkler fitter. He was currently employed at Home Depot in the Tool Rental and Garden Center, and also Elliott's Garden Center. Tom enjoyed gardening, nature, bird watching, the Canfield Fair, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren. Thomas will be greatly missed by his wife, the former Mary Ann Costello, whom he married October 14, 1972; daughters Rox Ann Sullivan and her husband William of Columbus and April Mellott and her husband William of New Middletown; son James Pitzo and his wife Tricia of Akron; 11 grandchildren DJ, Jessica, and Jenna Pitzo; Cody Pitzo; Tristan, Brendan, Aidan, and Logan Sullivan; Cherokee, Savanna, Hunter Mellott; a brother Michael (Judy) Pitzo of Marshall, WI; a sister Judy (Arthur) Peck of New Middletown; three nieces Wendy, Stacie and Ila and one nephew Mark. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 14 at Mt. Olivet UCC, 410 W South Range Rd, North Lima OH 44452 with Pastor David Howell officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Tom's memory to the Hope Center for Cancer Care, 835 Southwestern Run, Youngstown, OH 44514.
