BOARDMAN - Violette Virginia Miller Reese was born December 22, 1924 at Bridgewater, VA, the daughter of John Roy and Pinkie Susan (Evers) Miller. She moved with her family in 1927 to New Springfield, OH. She lived most of her life in New Springfield but also lived in Poland and Boardman, Ohio and Little Rock, Arkansas. She graduated from Springfield Township High School at Petersburg in 1943. Violette married Leroy Reese on September 3, 1944 and they lived in New Springfield. He died February 3, 1991. Violette was a former member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in New Springfield where she served as a Sunday school teacher and also as financial secretary for 13 years. She moved to Columbiana in 1997 and became a member of the First Christian Church and the Priscilla Circle. Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her two sons. Paul died in 2004 and Dwight in 2011. Her only grandson, Edward, died in 2007. Also preceding her in death were her two brothers, Warren and Harold and two sisters Lillie and Ferne. She leaves a sister, Velma Rose Brumbaugh of Visalia, CA. She also leaves two daughters-in-law Carol and her husband Norman Perrin of Salem, OH and Sally Reese of Wilmington, OH. She leaves two granddaughters, Lori and her husband David Gillespie and Jacquelyn and her husband Fred Danchuk; a granddaughter-in-law Cynthia and her husband David Coie; nine great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm Street, Columbiana with Pastor John Reed officiating. The family will receive friends at 1:00 p.m., an hour before the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made in Violette's memory to First Christian Church of Columbiana, 39 Cherry Street, Columbiana, OH 44408.
