YOUNGSTOWN - Virginia Ann Thompson, 87, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, July 11, at Park Vista of Youngstown. Ann was born on Oct. 19, 1927, in Beloit, a daughter of Harvey G. and Blanche (Amos) Thompson. She graduated from Sebring High School, and later from Youngstown Business College. She was employed as the file clerk for Anthony Vivo during his tenure as Clerk of Courts in Youngstown. Ann was of the Presbyterian faith, being a long time member of the John Knox Presbyterian Church in Youngstown. She was a Stephen Minister at Park Vista, and she belonged to the Red Hat Club there as well. She enjoyed her cats, but loved being with her family, especially treasuring her time reading to her nieces and nephews. She leaves to cherish her precious memory, her three sisters, Martha Corbett of Sebring, Esther Lois Knopp of Toledo, and Ruth Culp of Forked River, N.J.; her brother, John of Fairborn; her sister-in-law, Yolanda Thompson of San Francisco; and many loving nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Mary (Leslie) Kent, Sarah Jane Thompson, Harvey G. (Bettie) Thompson Jr., Robert (Etta Mae) Thompson, Richard Thompson; infant brother, Joseph; brothers-in-law Warren Knopp, Robert Culp, and Charles Corbett; and sister-in-law Ruth Thompson. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 28, at 2 p.m. at the chapel at Park Vista, 1216 5th Ave., Youngstown, with the Rev. Larry Bowald officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 28, one hour prior to the service, at 1 p.m. at Park Vista. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in Ann's memory to the Canfield Presbyterian Church, 140 W. Main St., Canfield, OH 44406. The family has entrusted the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima, with the arrangements for their loved one.
