Obituary

Virginia "Ginny" Way, 90, died at her home in Venice, Florida on Monday, March 24, 2008. Born on April 10, 1917 and raised in Greensburg, PA, she was the daughter of Paul and Katherine (Blank) Moore. She graduated from Allegheny College in 1938 with a BA in English Literature. She moved to Columbiana, OH in 1938 with her husband, Lewis, who was the President and owner of Columbiana Foundry Company, and who preceded her in death in 1987. Ginny was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Columbiana, where she taught Sunday school classes for many years. She was a charter member of the Columbiana Parent Teachers Organization, and served as its Vice President. She also served in the Columbiana Mothers Club. She was especially active in the American Red Cross from 1950-1978, where she served as chairperson for the Columbiana County Chapter, and as a volunteer consultant for the ARC Social Services for the North East Ohio Division. She was also a speaker at the National Convention of the American Red Cross in New York City. Her survivors include: four daughters, Pauline (Frank) Boston of Parrish, FL, Sally (Orvis) Kinney of Venice, FL, Rebecca (Victor W.) Nery of Columbiana, OH, and Marjorie Way of Santa Cruz, CA; eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home on Saturday, March 29 from 10AM until noon. Funeral Services will follow at the funeral home at noon with Rev. Ken Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Columbiana Cemetery.
