Walter Leo Yarian, of The City of Green, Ohio, passed away on May 19, 2009 at the age of 94. He was born on March 18, 1915 and raised in New Waterford, Ohio, the son of James and Lillie Hively Yarian. Walter retired from Nationwide Insurance Company after 25 years of service as a District Sales Manager. Previously he had worked at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. Walter was a member of The Advent Lutheran Church in Uniontown. He graduated from New Waterford High School and served in the U.S. Army. Walter is survived by his wife, the former Doris Unger, whom he married December 2, 1936. Other survivors include a daughter, Marcella (Gary) Robinson of Green, Ohio; three sons, Dennis Yarian of Pennsylvania, James (Dianne) Yarian of Green, Ohio and Jon (Sharon) Yarian of Apache Junction, AZ.; 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Julia (Schmidt) Yarian, two brothers, James Lavelle Yarian and John Paul Yarian. Services will be held at 7 PM on May 21st at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home In Columbiana, Ohio, with Pastor Jon Yarian (grandson) officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the New Waterford Cemetery.
