Poland - Wanda J. Pierson, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday afternoon, August 8 at Hospice House in Poland surrounded by her family. Wanda was born on February 11, 1930, in Sutton, West Virginia, a daughter of Wilmer W. and Elsie (Jackson) Robinson. She moved to Warren in 1951, and married Franklin B. Pierson on August 30, 1952. They would have celebrated 64 years of marriage this month. Wanda started her career in nursing at the Hospital in Sutton. Upon moving to Warren she was also employed at Trumbull Memorial Hospital and the County Home Nursing Home where Kent State Trumbull now stands. She finished her career in 1980, retiring to travel. She and her husband enjoyed travelling together, with friends from the Coachmen Camping Club, and visited every state in the United States except Hawaii and North Dakota. She also attended Columbiana Church of the Nazarene. Wanda leaves to cherish her memory her husband Franklin, her daughter Sandra Sell, son-in-law Raymond Sell, and the loves of her life her grandsons Bradley and Gregory, who lovingly called her "Goddu." She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Reva Hoover, Pearl Robinson, Carmel and Gale Robinson, and her granddaughter Amanda. In celebration of a life well lived, services will be held on Monday, August 15 at 6:00 p.m. at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm Street, Columbiana with Pastor Jan Winnale officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., two hours before the services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made in Wanda's memory to Columbiana Nazarene Church, 330 N.
