COLUMBIANA - Warden Francis Cunningham, 85, of Columbiana, passed away Wednesday morning, December 25 at his home. Mr. Cunningham was born on May 17, 1928 in New Waterford, a son of A. Boyd and Claudia (Snyder) Cunningham. Warden graduated Columbiana High School in 1946, and shortly afterward joined the United States Army. Stationed in Alaska, he attained the rank of Technician 5th Grade, and was discharged in 1948. He was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Columbiana, and worked at the Tennessee Gas Pipeline Co. as Division Measurement Supervisor. He retired in October of 1989 after over 39 years of service. Warden leaves to cherish his precious memory his daughters Sara J. Brumby of San Antonio, TX, Polly A. Cunningham of Southwick, MA, and Rebecca (Robert) O'Connell of New Paltz, NY; a sister Helen Edling of FL; two grandchildren Justin Chase and Kendall Batchelor; and two great granddaughters Celia and Sarah. Mr. Cunningham was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Esther Sponseller, three brothers Sidney, Alfred Jr. and Richard, and two daughters Nancy L. Geisler and Martha F. Cunningham-Batchelor. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 30 at 11:00 a.m. at the Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm St., Columbiana. The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday, December 29, at the funeral home.
