Wesley Sherwood Sickelsmith, 77, of Columbiana, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly at 12:02 a.m. at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman on February 1, 2012. He was born in Greene County, Pennsylvania on February 15, 1934, the son of Herschell and Alverta (Hunsaker) Sickelsmith. Wesley retired from J & L Steel in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania in 1985 and CMI in Elkhart, Indiana in 1997. Mr. Sickelsmith was a Christian man who was kind and had a great smile. He adored his wife and was proud of his children. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Wesley was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Robert, Delbert and Gene Sickelsmith. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Evelyn Jeanne (Fluharty) Sickelsmith whom he married on April 24, 1956. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His son, David (Kay) and grandchildren David, Tiffany, Krista (Rob) Foreman, Cory, Tiffany; his son Richard (Connie) and grandchildren Eric (Karrisa), Joe (Angela), Jessica (Andrew); his son Clarence (Crystal) and grandchildren Nicole Meta (Chris), Marcy; his son Greg (Tia) and grandchildren Christopher (Angel), Cory, Kayla (Travis) Denman and daughter Mary Bowman (Matthew) and grandchildren Carter and Caitlin. Wesley was beloved by his grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren who called him Pap or Pappy. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana. Friends may call from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012 prior to the service at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home. A private interment service will be held for family on Sunday in Sardis, Ohio. "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers.
