Doris Bones Obituary

Maxine Bones, a longtime resident of New Springfield, Ohio passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019.

Maxine was born on January 11, 1932 to William and Jennie Brininstool of Jackson, Michigan.

Maxine married the late Donald “Don” Bones in 1950 and is survived by their four children, Marcus

William Sr. of Remington, Virginia, Matthew David (Michelle) of San Diego, California, Gail Lynn of

Youngstown, Ohio and Gay Ann, of Sacramento, California.

She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Erick, Connor, Marcus Jr. and Justina and four great-

grandchildren, Adalynn, Brayden, Cameron and Vivian.

Maxine was stellar in her role as a woman, wife, mother and loving homemaker. She retired from the K-

Mart Corporation in 1997 and spent countless hours making and gifting stunning quilts in her retirement.

Her love of quilting shined through in each quilt block she made. A piece of her love is forever woven

into each masterful quilt and will go on living in our hearts. Aside from being an avid quilter, she was a

talented seamstress, a lover of all animals and a gourmet cook.

She always made sure her family had three square meals every day. She experimented in the kitchen and

her children ate everything she put in front of them, including scallops, fish, Succotash, Hungarian

Goulash, and liver and onions. Fridays were homemade burgers, fries and shakes — guaranteeing her kids

finished dinner with clean plates!

Maxine not only kept her family fed but also cared for any animal that came near her. She conveniently

ignored any and all signs or requests not to feed the birds, dogs, cats or any other critter that would come

to her back deck looking for handouts. Countless animals would pay visits to her, knowing a free meal

was guaranteed at her home. Nothing would stop her from making sure all were fed.

Most of all, her heart was big and she was generous with her love. She loved deeply, and selflessly gave

much of herself to her husband, children, faith and every living creature that crossed her path. She taught

her family so much during her life. Now she teaches us that love lives on, from the kindness and caring

she leaves behind and the memories we hold in our hearts.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 13, at Petersburg Cemetery, 13525

Youngstown - Pittsburgh Rd., Petersburg, Ohio.
