Edward Zins

EAST PALESTINE - Edward J. Zins, 77, of East Palestine, passed away September 22, 2024.  He was born April 5, 1947, to Lillian and Richard Zins in Youngstown Ohio. 

Edward is a cherished, loving, thoughtful husband of 55 years, and a beloved, active father, grandfather and great grandfather.  He was a trusty travel companion, who loved history, visiting historic sights and museums, and was a trivia buff.  He enjoyed volunteering 10 years with the state of Ohio and was a proud Vietnam Air Force Veteran.  

Ed is survived by his wife of 55 years Jean F. Zins; daughter Christa J Graves; granddaughters Sharon L. Graves (Jason Chirico), Ally R. Graves (Donald V. Little), Lillian L.J. Graves; great grandchildren Asher E. Quetot, Vayda Chirico; brothers Richard (Joann) Zins of Chantilly, VA, James (Barbara) Zins of Lisbon, and Russell (Candace) Zins of Plano, TX. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Lillian Zins, brother Ronald Zins and sister-in-law Larinda Zins.  

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, 11500 Market St., North Lima.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 11:00 am at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, 11500 Market Street, North Lima.

Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Youngstown, where military honors will be accorded.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Edward’s memory to the Youngstown VA food bank, 1815 Belmont Ave., Youngstown, OH  44504 ATTN: Lori Stone, in the form of gift cards.
