NEW SPRINGFIELD - Gary Lamar Wentz, 81, of New Springfield, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Born on October 10, 1943, to Paul and Betty Wentz, Gary grew up in East Palestine and attended East Palestine High School.
Gary was a semi-truck owner/operator and drove for many years for Tajon, Green Meadows, and Grim’s Crane Service. He was a long-time member of Allen Lodge #276 F&AM.
Gary was a loving husband of 60 years to his wife Marlene. He enjoyed their three children and six grandchildren, their home, being outdoors, fishing, traveling to the Outer Banks, South Carolina and out west. He was an avid animal lover and especially loved his lab Samantha and his cats Buddy and Ralphie.
Gary is survived by his wife Marlene (Hanley) Wentz; children Christine (Mark) Seifert, Carol (David) and Paul (Dani) Wentz; grandchildren Gabbie, Brie and Gavin Seifert, Maddie and Jake Rakich and Marlowe Wentz; brother Richard L.(Marjorie) Wentz.
A private service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to Angels For Animals at www.angelsforanimals.org in his honor.
The family would like to thank Masternick Memorial in New Middletown and Ohio Living Hospice for their compassionate care.
The family has entrusted Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in North Lima, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one.
