Jean (Bobish) Ritchie

MERCER, PA – Jean Ritchie, 81, formerly of Columbiana, OH, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, October 29, 2024.

Jean was born, a triplet, on July 8, 1943, in Sharon, PA, a daughter of Michael and Ann (Luther) Bobish.  A 1962 Farrell (PA) High School graduate, she worked as a hairdresser, a waitress and at local fast-food restaurants.  She married Orville C. Ritchie on June 1, 1983; they celebrated 38 years of marriage before his passing in August 2021.

Jean enjoyed gardening, reading and exercising.  She cherished spending time with her family, and the special memories they shared at Madison-On-The-Lake and at home in Columbiana.

Jean will be greatly missed by her daughter Victoria VanHoose, son R. Jason VanHoose; two grandchildren Courtney VanHoose and Bruno VanHoose-Marks; two great granddaughters Noah and Fleura; her twin sister Jane Labor and brothers Gregory (Debra) Bobish and Kevin (Kaye Lynn) Bobish; as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Orville, her sister Michaelene Bobish, her triplet sister Joan Bobish and son in law David Bell.

 The family would like to thank the following for their wonderful care and compassion, Quality Life Services, Mercer, PA and Three Rivers Hospice.

A private memorial service will be held.
