Joann Forney Cook, 85, formerly of Columbiana, passed away on May 9, 2018 at Canfield Place in Youngstown.
Joann was born on June 9, 1932, in Columbiana, a daughter of the late Howard and LaVerne (Huxley) Forney. She married William E. Cook on June 7, 1958.
Joann retired after 30 years of working at Packard Electric. She was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Columbiana. Joann was active with the Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames XVII Century, Spencer Family Association, Mahoning Valley Civil War Roundtable, Mahoning Valley Historical Society and the Columbiana Fairfield Historical Society. She spent many days volunteering. Joann also enjoyed history, reading, cooking and genealogy. She was very proud of her nieces and nephews.
She leaves to cherish her memories her twin sister Joyce D. Haydu and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William who passed away August 23, 2012.
Per Joann’s wishes, private services were held.
The family has entrusted Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one.
