Joanna "Mama Jo" Seybert

COLUMBIANA – Joanna “Mama Jo” (Costanzo) Seybert, 89, peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in her home surrounded by her loved ones.

Born to Anthony Wilbur and Carmel Elizabeth (Mancuso) Costanzo of New Waterford, Joanna lived in Columbiana for over 64 years and was briefly a resident at Whispering Pines Village. She served as a cook at Heck’s Restaurant for over 15 years and was a parishioner of St. Jude Roman Catholic Parish.    

Joanna will be remembered as a loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and her interest in NASCAR and Dale Earnhart, Jr.  Joanna had a passion for travel and enjoyed frequenting the Crystal Coast and Outer Banks, admiring the lighthouses along the coast of the Carolinas.

Joanna’s memory will lovingly be remembered by her children Christine (Larry) Nemenz and Richard (Carol) Seybert; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Joseph (Mary Jane) Costanzo and stepsisters Donna Jean (Charles) Whippo, Shirley Jo Costanzo, Denise Costanzo-Ridinger and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Joanna joins in heaven her parents Anthony Wilbur Costanzo and Carmel Elizabeth Costanzo-Clark; husband Wallace Seybert; children Richard Allen Seybert and Frederick (Kathy) Seybert and brother Ronald (Janice) Costanzo.

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm Street, Columbiana. Funeral services will follow at noon.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made to Ohio Living Hospice of Greater Youngstown at ohioliving.org.
