CANFIELD – Kathryn Irene Yoder, 84, passed away Wednesday evening, February 28, 2024, at Windsor House in Canfield. She was born June 23, 1939, in Columbiana, a daughter of John and Ruth (Shoup) Weaver.
She was a lifetime member of the Midway Mennonite Church. After graduating from North Lima High School, Kathryn went to the Trumbull Memorial School of Nursing. She worked for almost 20 years at Southside Hospital in Youngstown and part-time at Essex in Salem. She married Raymond Yoder on June 7, 1980.
Kathryn enjoyed baking and cooking, needlework and quilting, and reading. She was the head of the Sewing Circle at Midway Mennonite Church at one time.
She leaves to cherish her memory her brother Ken Weaver, and two sisters, Valera Riemenschneider and Norma Weaver. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Raymond, who passed away on October 30, 2022.
A memorial service will be held at Midway Mennonite Church on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 11:00 am with Pastor Matthew Peterson officiating.
Family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the church.
Memorial contributions can be made in Kathryn’s memory to Mennonite Central Committee (MCC), a global nonprofit organization that strives to share God’s love and compassion through relief, development, and peace.
