COLUMBIANA – Larry Carl LeMaster, 80, passed away at his home on January 6, 2026, with his devoted wife, Cynthia, by his side.
Larry was born on September 24, 1945, in Akron, the son of Waitman G. and Augusta (Harwell) LeMaster. A Stow High School graduate, he proudly served his country by enlisting in the US Air Force. He was stationed in Vietnam for 18 months. He earned his Journeyman’s license and married the former Cynthia Mollenkopf on July 16, 1969. He worked in tool and die at General Motors in Lordstown and later at Saturn in Spring Hill, TN for 28 years. The couple lived in Knoxville TN for 20 years before moving back to the area in the fall of 2024.
Larry loved animals and was a passionate fan of the Cleveland Browns. He enjoyed the beach and ocean, and also horseback riding. Larry was a proud veteran who was a life-time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Above all, he loved being known as husband, dad and ‘Papa.’
Larry leaves to cherish his precious memory his wife of over 56 years, Cynthia; his three children, Angela (Bill) Vaughn, Janiece (Matt) Foust, and Carl LeMaster; seven grandchildren, EmmaRae, EllaGrace, EvaLine, Lili, Madison, Jackson, and Lincoln; sister Sandy (Jack) Lengyel; his best friend and ‘brother,’ Bob (Charlotte) Sallaz; as well as his dog Maisy and cats Webster, Lovey, and Coco.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog, Boone.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church Home, 12062 South Ave, North Lima, OH 44452, with Pastor Pat Smith officiating.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the church, prior to the service.
Military honors will be accorded immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to the family at 11800 Detwiler Road, Columbiana, OH 44408.
