Mary Beth Warner Bender

COLUMBIANA – Mary Beth Warner Bender, 98, passed away Monday evening, February 26, 2018 at St. Mary’s Alzheimer’s Center.

Beth was born on October 11, 1919, in Washingtonville, OH, a daughter of Frank and Lena Fern (Bertolette) Warner. She graduated from Columbiana High School on May 27, 1937, and married James H. Bender in 1941.  Beth was of the Methodist faith, and worked in the Columbiana Local schools as a secretary for 25 years.

Beth was funny and quick-witted, and loved her flower garden.  She enjoyed cards, cooking, shopping and family gatherings, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.      

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter-in-law Yvonne Bender, two granddaughters Jennifer (Jim) Cretella and Carrie (Whitney) Bender, and four great-grandchildren, Nate, Ellie, Rhye and Sterling. 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James, who passed away August 11, 1995 and her son Robert L. Bender who passed away on November 19, 1981.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 7 at 11:00 am at Seederly-Mong & Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm Street, Columbiana.

Interment will follow at Old North Cemetery in Canfield.
