Patrick James Burns

NORTH LIMA – Patrick James Burns, 76, passed away peacefully at his home in North Lima on Saturday morning, July 26, 2025.

Mr. Burns was born on June 29, 1949, in Youngstown, a son of Frank and Anna Katherine (Sweeny) Burns.  A Boardman high school graduate, Patrick entered the U. S. Marine Corp in April of 1968.  After his discharge in April 1971, he worked as a carpenter with the Carpenters Local Union # 171. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and belonged to the Racing Pigeon Club in Lisbon and Sportsman Club in PA.  He loved nature and was a through hiker on the Appalachian Trail and the Pacific Crest.  Pat belonged to the American Legion Post 290 in Columbiana and was part of the APA (American PoolPlayers Association).  He was in a league at The Stagecoach in North Lima.

Pat leaves to cherish his precious memory his wife, the former Margaret ‘Marty’ Robek, whom he married June 30, 1971 and with whom he just celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary; his daughters Carrie (Jarard G. II) Powers of Fort Bragg, NC; Patricia Burns of Struthers; and Kristen Burns of Boardman; grandchildren Jarard G. Powers, III, Caleb Godward, Alivia Godward and Michael (Reyna) Nissen; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son John Burns, who passed away January 12, 2019; siblings Frank Burns, Mary Lou McCarthy and John Burns; and nephew Patsy McCarthy.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, at 2:00pm at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 11500 Market Street, North Lima, with Pastor Ralph Edwards officiating.

The family will receive friends an hour before the services on Monday, August 4, 2025, from 1:00pm until the time of the service at 2:00pm at the funeral home.
