Samuel “Sam” Harrold, of Columbiana, Ohio, passed away at home on October 29, 2025.
He was born on August 24, 1938, to the late Ralph E. and Ruth (Hollenshead) Harrold, Sam had a big heart, a stubborn streak, and quick wit.
He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Jordan Harrold (BJ) ; grandson, Caleb Harrold; daughter; Julie Callen (Stephen); granddaughters Jennifer, Jamie, and Jessica; son, John Slovak (Watanna); granddaughter Chasity; brother, Joe Harrold (Carol); and a very special nephew, John Harrold, who has faithfully been by his side over the years; and many other nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his wife, Barb Harrold; his children, Michael and Lori Harrold, and Jill Slovak; his sisters, Anna and Alice Harrold; and his brother, Ralph Harrold.
He was baptized at Lake Mount Church of Christ.
Sam enjoyed almost 60 years of his life truck driving for a living. He enjoyed watching football and treasured the time he spent with his grandson, Caleb.
He found comfort and companionship in his beloved pet birds; Kiwi, Sammy, Shermy, and Esther, who kept him company and made sure life was never too quiet.
A memorial service to celebrate Sam’s life will be held at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm St., Columbiana, on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 2:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Tim Postle.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the time of the services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made in Sam’s memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
