PETERSBURG – Vivian Koch, 101, passed away at Adventura at Assumption in North Lima Thursday, February 6, 2025.
Vivian was born on November 13, 1923, in Zanesville, OH, a daughter of Frank and Jessie (Maneely) Wietelmann. She married C. Raymond Koch on June 6, 1942, and celebrated 73 years of marriage before his passing in January 2015.
Vivian was a homemaker and also helped on the family farm, which specialized in poultry, potatoes, and grain. She was a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau and the Springfield Historical Society. She belonged to St. John Lutheran Church in Petersburg, where she was active in the Sunday School program and the Women’s groups. She enjoyed gardening and canning.
Vivian leaves to cherish her precious memory two daughters, Carol and her husband Sam McKinney of Salem and Beth and her husband Thomas Bean of Boardman; two sons, Robert (Catherine) of Canton and Philip and his wife Darlene of New Middletown; daughter-in-law Kim Welsh-Koch of Petersburg, 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and a sister Geraldine McCutchan of Albuquerque, NM.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ray, her son Thomas (2012), great grandson Damon Hazlett (2024), daughter-in-law Patty Koch, and two brothers Robert and Ronald Wietelmann.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 14394 Youngstown - Pittsburgh Road, Petersburg, OH 44454 with Pastor Aimee Raymond officiating.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 3-5 p.m.at St. John Lutheran Church, and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
Interment will take place in Petersburg cemetery.
